Good cheesecake DOES exist in Japan!!

If I make it that is :) Even after having to make subsititutions for the many ingredients I couldn't find here, and finding out that my oven cooks a cheesecake in half the time of a regular oven, it still turned out pretty damn good.
And last night I found this amazing little cafe/restaurant right around the corner from my house ( I knew it was there before but never bothered to look for it till last night), that serves coffee, plays the Beatles and makes their own sausages (I think). We got like 10 different types of sausages, all of which were awesome, and we had a grill right at our table. The food was really tasty, but I am really excited about the prospect of studying there. They have couches, serve lattes, and are open till 10pm. I'm so used to going to Timothy's or Starbucks at home to study, since I'm so easily distracted elsewhere, so I'm gonna ask if they mind me hanging out there sometimes to study Japanese. The best part is that I can practice on the ladies that run it, since they don't speak any English!! Anyways, off to teach my one and only class today:)

A girl has got to have her cheesecake! I was going through withdrawl b/c Betty Jean's closed. Luckily, a new internet cafe has opened in Woodstock, and they always have a selection of 3 kinds of cheesecake.
Keep writing in your blog, I like reading about your Japan adventures.
